INVESTITURE CEREMONY:
The Investiture ceremony will be held at the Boathouse on Sunday May 27,
2012.
ANNUAL FUND RAISING BARBECUE:
The annual Barbecue will be held on Saturday June 09, 2012 at St Mary's
College from 11:00AM to 3:00PM. Tickets are $45.

CARNIVAL CAMP:
A camp was held at the Boathouse from
1:00PM on Friday February 17 to 2:00PM on Sunday February 19, 2012
CHRISTMAS CAMP:
Forty six scouts attended the
Christmas camp at Pt Gourde from December 17 to 20, 2011.
ANNUAL SOCAPARANG FUNDRAISER:.
The annual socaparang fundraiser was held
at the St John Ambulance Centre, Wrightson Road on Sunday November 20, 2011.
Once again the event was very successful.
HOCHOY FLAG COMPETITION 2011:
A patrol of venture scouts led by Anderson
Thompson
which included Andrew Agard, Mark-Anthony Blackman, Trevin Lewis, Jarryon
Paul, Troy Sammy and Menesheh Tarquini took part in the National Scout Association's Hochoy Flag Competition from October 29th to October 30th, 2011. The patrol
placed first in the competition. First Trinidad Sea Scouts also won this
competition in 2009 but were unable to take part in 2010.
22nd WORLD SCOUT JAMBOREE 2011:
Twenty three scouts from 1st Trinidad Sea Scouts
attended the 22nd World Scout Jamboree in Sweden. The Jamboree was held from
July 27 to August 07, 2011. The scouts spent five days before the Jamboree
sightseeing in Copenhagen, Denmark and eleven of them went to London,
England for three days after the Jamboree. Twelve others went to Madrid, Spain
to attend World Youth Day with Pope Benedict XVI.

JULY CAMP:
Fifty scouts attended the July camp at Pt. Gourde from July 10 to July 13,
2011. Unfortunately the camp was partially spoiled by a couple inconsiderate
fishermen who cleaned their fish catch and dumped the fish heads and entrails
in the bay. This prevented the boys from swimming in the bay. Unfortunately
the laws of this country do not prevent inconsiderate louts from doing things
like this at sea so neither the Coast Guard or police could do anything to
prevent it.
CORPUS CHRISTI PARADE:
On Thursday June 23rd 2011 (Corpus Christi) twenty three
scouts took part in the parade around Independence Square.

5th ANNUAL WILLIAM I KOCH INTERNATIONAL SEA SCOUT CUP:
Che Perez and Kevan "Nick" Lee Lum represented Trinidad & Tobago and our troop at the Fifth
Annual William I Koch International Sea Scout Cup
from August 1 -7, 2010. This
youth sailing regatta is open to sea scouts between the ages of 14
and 21. The
event was held at the United States Coast Guard Academy in New London,
Connecticut, USA. Forty two man teams from the United States and a
number of other countries including Australia, Brazil, Denmark, England,
Finland, Germany, New Zealand and Sweden competed. Che and Nick placed 6th in the qualifying
races. This put them to race in the top
twenty group where they placed ninth.

HOCHOY FLAG COMPETITION:
A patrol of venture scouts led by Njere Edwards
which included Anderson Thompson, Antonio Emmanuel, Edward Mootoo, Justin
Audroing and Keeshan Ramkissoon took part in the National Scout Association's
Hochoy Flag Competition from October 31st to November 1st, 2009. The patrol placed
first in the competition and completed tasks such as backwoodsman cooking,
orienteering, public speaking and planning events.

14th CARIBBEAN JAMBOREE (CARIBJAM 2009):
The 14th Caribbean Jamboree
“CARIBJAM,”
was held
held in Georgetown, Guyana
from August 6 - 14,
2009. The following scouts attended: Justin Audroing, Christian Chee
Foon, Aishwar Kalloo, Corri Latapy, Nick Lee Lum, Fernando and Romario Lopez, Edward Mootoo, Marcus Moses, Keeshan
Ramkissoon, Troy Sammy and Kester Wade. The group was
led by Mikhail Woodruffe.
The event was a
success with scouts making
international friendships and engaging in various scouting, sporting and
cultural activities. Apart from
Trinidad & Tobago there
were groups
from Barbados, Bahamas, British Virgin Islands, Guyana, Jamaica
and St. Vincent and the
Grenadines.
Scouts took part in daily off-site activities including visits to factories, a
Water Park, Community Service and
shopping in the city. They also participated in a Route
March, Sports Festival, Global Development Village, Campfire and nightly
cultural shows. The group returned on 18th August, 2009.
